Gelah Raz (Revealer of Mysteries)

Sometimes people wonder “why” I’ve chosen various colors or oils for their scarf, or why one scarf letter is less than half a page and another is three pages (though they’re rarely that long!). The only way I can answer that is by talking about the nature of God and how He wants to use this ministry.

The purpose of Dyed4you is to facilitate an encounter with the living God. Our silk is intended to begin a conversation with God, not be a whole conversation.  You shouldn’t have to come back to Dyed4you whenever you want another encounter, but rather we create tools to encourage new depths in your own personal relationship with God.  Even for the seasoned believer – there’s always new depths… this is a limitless God remember 🙂

What God gives me to share in the letters I try to do to the best of my human ability.  Sometimes there are nuances I sense that when people come back and ask for clarification I’m able to better express then in my first attempt.  I’m human – I give my best efforts to be diligent with the role and words that God gives me to share, but I am certainly imperfect and only understand in part (1 Corinthians 13:12).

Sometimes people are frustrated or disappointed by what God doesn’t share. But what I’ve learned is that often He has “not shared” intentionally – so that the recipient will SEEK.  We have to remember that God is all about relationship. Even the words He gives through the scarves are a portion of that relationship, a way to touch you – to comfort, encourage or exhort you (1 Corinthians 14:3).

One of the names of God is Gelah Raz, which means Revealer of Mysteries.  God loves to go treasure hunting with us (where revelation and knowledge of-or-from Him is the treasure).  Kirk Bennett (from IHOP Kansas City and founder of ZHOP) shared a word picture that gave me such insight into this name that I want to share it with you as I paraphrased it on my blog at the time as well as my personal response to it.

When I play hide and seek with my two-year-old son, it is not hard for me to hide.  If I wanted to I could get in my car and drive off 5 miles… what’s the likelihood he’d find me then?  But instead, I hide behind a curtain with the toe of one shoe sticking out… the point is I want to be found… but I want to be sought out.

And frankly, it’s all about the relationship we build along the way… the time spent together is a FAR greater treasure than the mysteries being revealed… because He is the greatest mystery. And the greatest treasure.

Suddenly I loved Him even more because He has these mysteries for us because we like it! We like the chase, we like the hunt… it engages us and makes us think… and He loves to watch us work… see how we work through things… He loves us. He’s a good Daddy. He’s not hiding things to be mean, but He knows how much more we will value what is found if we’ve had to work for it a bit.

All this to say, I encourage you to take the words you receive through this ministry and seek the Lord for more.  What you get from Dyed4you is only a starting point or a mid-point. So jump into the depths of what He wants to share and may God bless you richly as you seek Him with your whole heart!

  1. WOW, that is a good word Meghan. Thank you for taking the time to share what was on your heart with all of us. I am wanting a deeper relationship with my Heavenly Father, Seek and ye shell find. Thank you again Meghan 🙂 This is just a great reminder!

  2. This is so, so , SOOOO good, Meghan! One of the best entries yet! Quite a bit in here to chew on and just selah. Definitely one I’ll be rereading for awhile.

  3. Awesome word! Thanks for sharing what He put on your heart. Seek and Ye shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened unto you.

  4. Wonderful Word, Meghan! I love how God draws us in with ‘teasers’! The more He reveals, the more we want to dig deeper. And, don’t we just LOVE when Daddy God shares another treasure with us!! BTW, I love how God uses you to reveal more of the Mystery of Who God is! Your scarf creations are incredible and so anointed with the signature of God. A true ministry! If I could, I’d have them all!!

  5. Thanks…this helps! 🙂

  6. Thanks for sharing Meghan. Thank you for your obedience to the call of God. You put yourself out there each time you create and lives are touched in spectacular ways.

  7. Thank you for sharing. I totally agree with everyone above-especially Amanda E.-I will read it over and over and just let God whisper to my heart. Be blessed!

  8. Thank you for these words! I had read Song of Solomon right before I got my scarf from Reyna which spoke 4:7 to me and I thought that was amazing…I didn’t think to DELVE in again to that book and seek greater understanding and revelation. I sensed God speaking to me lately that there is greater understanding and so much MORE God wants to reveal to me and He wants me to SEEK. I didn’t know where to start and I was getting frustrated trying to read…but I will start over where I began and where God continued to speak to me through you, Meghan! THANK YOU

Gosh did I need reminded of this tonight. THis alone is a pause and meditate, and even take to the prayer closet. I’m really glad I went back to re-read this. Bless you Meghan for keeping these posts up and going. 🙂

  10. Meghan–Thanks so much for clarifying the colors AND linking this to it! It is a major thing that I have been learning to do more consistently–I need to ask Him more questions–there’s plenty of times He tells me something or shows me something and I have stopped short of asking Him how it applies to me or why he showed it to me…. Loved the excerpt of the hide and seek description. What a great heart behind your ministry!

  11. I found your site here while on FaceBook. And have quickly fallen in-love with it!!! Am creating a link for my FaceBook Ministry page, so all can enjoy! Thank you! What a fabulous Ministry!!! LOVE IT~~”Gelah Raz”…”Revealer of Mysteries”…

  12. So glad to read again! I pull out my letters from time to time to see if there is more he wants to say or remind myself what He sees for me.

  13. well written – thanks for sharing! When I first became a Christian in 1990 I was on a business trip to Anchorage and Kent Henry was at a church there. I was so encouraged that night! I didn’t realize that he was still ministering – will have to look for his music. BTW – where in the bible is the name Gelah Raz revealed? ♥

  14. @Marjorie – Gelah Raz is in Daniel – Daniel uses it when referring to the fact that only the Lord can interpret dreams 🙂

Kent is at our church usually once a month (his son-in-law is my pastor). So if you’re ever near St Louis… 😉

  15. brilliant. what a great post & i totally identify with this!

  16. G-d is the revealer of mysteries. Sometimes they will be strange. What he gives does not always fit in with normal things. My vision is strange, but I love it and will not give it up. The future of it all is in his hands if I could just learn to wait which is hard for me because I feel like I should always be doing something.

Yup, I’ve been needing to spend more time with Him for sure and in the word. I like seeking Him, learning to rest IN the seeking and not get frustrated of course can sometimes be trying. I’ll definitely pull myself aside more for Him for sure!

  18. I really needed reminded of this….thank you Meghan.. 😉

  19. Excellent post! I have my page printed out and posted for me to read and be reminded of.
    Thank you!!
