Abiding Joy

Another Dyed4you Blog giveaway scarf story 🙂

So my story starts here. I got on facebook and was just looking through my news feed and decided to comment on a dyed4you posting. I then got offline. I was sitting on my couch looking at my bible and the book I had in my hand when I heard God tell me it was ok to read a chapter and then come spend time with him.

When I grabbed my bible I didn’t know what to read so I was asking Pappa where He wanted me to go when I was reminded of the morning before…the time on the clock was 3:33 so I went to Isaiah 33:3 – it didn’t seem to fit then I heard Jeremiah 33:11 – by the time I turned there it was 33:3-11 and I wanted to cry at what I was reading.

3 Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. 4 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: You have torn down the houses of this city and even the king’s palace to get materials to strengthen the walls against the siege ramps and swords of the enemy. 5 You expect to fight the Babylonians, but the men of this city are already as good as dead, for I have determined to destroy them in my terrible anger. I have abandoned them because of all their wickedness.

6 “Nevertheless, the time will come when I will heal Jerusalem’s wounds and give it prosperity and true peace. 7 I will restore the fortunes of Judah and Israel and rebuild their towns. 8 I will cleanse them of their sins against me and forgive all their sins of rebellion. 9 Then this city will bring me joy, glory, and honor before all the nations of the earth! The people of the world will see all the good I do for my people, and they will tremble with awe at the peace and prosperity I provide for them.

10 “This is what the Lord says: You have said, ‘This is a desolate land where people and animals have all disappeared.’ Yet in the empty streets of Jerusalem and Judah’s other towns, there will be heard once more 11 the sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the Lord. They will sing,‘Give thanks to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, for the Lord is good. His faithful love endures forever!’

For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the Lord.

Jeremiah 33:3-11

There were several verses that jumped out at me, vs 3 was the first then 6, then 8-9 and 11. I have been crying out to God and He was letting me know that He’s heard me and is answering me. The next vs that grabbed me had to do with God bringing health and healing – more things I have been struggling with. And on to the fact that He pardons all, and that it shall be a name of joy to Him.

It’s hard to put all in here that I was hearing and feeling. By the time I was finished reading I was in tears and hearing He is my Joy.

For some reason I decided to check my mail and noticed a message from Meghan encouraging me to post my comment to the blog and not just to facebook…it had been over an hour since I had been on facebook.

So I went and copied my post to the blog. It wasn’t long before I found out that I had won and the name of the scarf was “Abiding Joy”…again I cried. I have had words given to me recently about Joy returning to my life and people having visions of me joyful to the point of attracting others. Then Meghan sent me the letter and I couldn’t believe that God had more! Here’s the letter:

The name of your scarf is Abiding Joy. The colors in it are:

  • Yellow representing joy
  • Seafoam green and turquoise (representing mercy, peace, and grace)
  • White representing the Lord’s holiness

When the turquoise and seafoam mixed with the yellow it created green (which represents healing).

The Lord is wrapping you in His mercy, grace and peace – He is bringing healing to your heart and covering you in His holiness – so that you can rest in His joy….abiding joy. 🙂

When I read the part about Him bringing healing to my heart I cried again…it was another confirmation of what someone had recently spoken over me. I actually felt like Pappa was saying not only do I see you, I want to touch you. I felt like He had given me a tangible hug through winning this scarf.

I saw how it unfolded to be His desire that I win, and am still amazed at how He shows me His love when I least expect it. So all this to say that the scarf was confirmation to what I’d been hearing from others and from my Pappa!

Thanks Meghan for doing what you do, I am sooo blessed! Oh and one last thing….I had been thinking of ordering a new one but kept dragging my feet so when I won it was even more special.

  1. Beautifully written. What a blessing that even the things that appear random are just not. God is selecting the perfect matches for his children and the scarves. I think that’s my favorite part!

  2. What a beautiful story. Our God is so amazing!

  3. Aww yay!!!! He orchestrates the giveaways so well 🙂 And like Jennifer said, it’s totally NOT random! And how cool He chose to give you one instead of ordering 🙂 Love confirmations too! So fun! The colors look awesome on you!

  4. Beautiful how God reaches out and wraps us in His love. He is so good. These stories bless me so much.

  5. I should say more…this scarf story encouraged my heart today. Especially the verse Jer 33:9 “Then this city will bring me joy, glory, and honor before all the nations of the earth! The people of the world will see all the good I do for my people, and they will tremble with awe at the peace and prosperity I provide for them.” Today I am filled with joy and faith. Circumstances have not changed but I have. I don’t remember feeling that way until after I read the blog. PTL! Thanks for sharing and for all the work you go to Meghan to share these testimonies. They really encourage my faith, especially today.

  6. I find this story so attracting! As Donelda Lea, verse 9 jumps out to me. “Then this city will bring me joy…” Isn’t that the longing of every disciple’s heart? To sing, dance, serve Him truthfully and in the Spirit so that we may please Him? I’m a little late commenting on this but… I imagine myself, simply worshipping and making Him smile… That would be enough! Because the joy of the Lord is my strength! The joy of the Lord is my strength!!

    🙂 Beautiful testimony.
