I realized one thing I forgot to share yesterday – when we went to my pastor’s for dinner, the Lord had me bring silk for everyone from the baby (who got an 11×11), 35x84s for the 3 primary and elementary school girls, 2 wearable ones for the 13 year old, on up to a matching man scarf for my pastor and 22×72 for his wife 🙂
When I handed them out he treated me with such honor. He had the girls all get quiet and explained these weren’t just pretty silks and had me tell them a little about what the Lord does through Dyed4you. It was a precious moment! And of course a little terrifying because I always struggle with feeling like I’m TOTALLY gonna blow it (yes, despite nearly 5 years of testimonies) and REALLY didn’t want to start off my relationship with my new pastor that way LOL!
Well, when he finished reading his – he said, “Wow! This is SO right on you have no idea!!! I might even give you a front hug for this one!” LOL 🙂 [We’d just been discussing side hugs vs front hugs… I come from a long line of huggers so the side hug never ceases to feel awkward to me – LOL]
Anyhow, it was priceless both because in that moment I realized they “get it” and because it was SO healing for me because as much as I loved my other pastor and he support me in ministry, he really didn’t “get it” and I hadn’t realized how much that hurt. I almost cried right there in their kitchen.
Then at church the next evening the 3 older girls (they have 5 total) and Cheryl (pastor’s wife) wore their scarves (she had his matching one in her hair… she looked amazing too!). They REALLY loved them. I was so blessed 🙂 I just wanted to share it with y’all.
And below is a quick video clip during worship yesterday – you can see them doing the circle dance at the front, on the stage the one with his arm raised is my pastor, and Allen is using my big Royal Priesthood flag. Did I mention he’s been flagging too every weekend… and loving it? We were practicing in the front lawn today! Love you guys 🙂
I love this scarf story! I knew it would be good right from the first paragraph! I caught myself holding my breath as I moved through it and of course tears where you held them back! This is so sweet and I am so happy for you – in finding your home. I caught the word yesterday but missed the worship (stupid garden bugs!). I do like that they moved the time back an hour.
How Precious!! Yes–moved to tears this morning! God is SO good! I enjoyed seeing the pictures and video too. 🙂
Wow! Yay Abba Father:) This is seriously amazing. What a beautiful testimony of His goodness.
Amazing God!!! Soooo Amazing!!!
