Caught Up, Marriage, Sleep

The good news is I am ALL caught up!!! As of today I am all caught up with only a handful of orders here all of which arrived in the last week. PRAISE GOD!!!  Allen literally took a bundle of 40-50 packages to the Post Office yesterday, but it took care of the bulk of them.  I had 1 last one that went today, it was a high dollar order that I poked a hole through one of the matching wing/flags as I went to demo it (here’s video after the hole poking).

After freaking out (there was a lot of tears this week – LOL), I had the idea to offer the customer (a full-time minister who dances with flags and was buying these and another pair of voi for an upcoming women’s conference) a free additional wing if she wanted to keep the ones with the hole. She couldn’t have been more gracious! So I dyed it first thing this morning and shipped it off a little after noon which meant I was officially caught up. I just figure the Lord had another word He wanted to release at the conference. Would you all pray blessings over this minister and the upcoming conference with me?

If I hadn’t been so buried in work on Monday, I would have thought to give you a praise report on marriage stuff. You might remember that about a month ago I asked for prayer and things that have been needing some shifting for a while began to shift!  So much so that now the enemy is attacking :/ So I’m back asking for prayer, but this time protection for the work God’s doing in our marriage. I cannot begin to express how much it affects me (and the ministry as an extension of me) based on how we’re doing in our relationship, so thank you SO much for your prayer!

A couple months ago I asked for prayer regarding my weight – you all have been so tender in your handling of me in this area and it is GREATLY appreciated (and needed)! Now the Lord is opening a door for me to walk through. He’s connected me with a woman at church who for more than 2 decades has been coaching folks on nutrition and healthy lifestyle. My mom has offered to hire her to assist me.  We will be moving VERY slowly!!! (I have a tendency to go to fast, get overwhelmed and give up.)

So, the first thing we’re addressing is my sleep schedule.  For the first time ever I had it explained to me WHY it’s bad and not just “because it’s not normal” LOL !  The short version is that apparently if you’re on a computer (or TV) last in the night your body reacts almost as though it’s sun and releases some chemical to keep you awake. It also thinks some disaster has befallen and you need more energy (because there’s “sun” both day and night) so it stores fat for energy! Which explains why after 3 years on this schedule with no changes to diet/exercise I have gained about 30 lbs.

So, I have actually managed to keep my bedtime between 12-1 which for me is VERY early. The ultimate goal is more like 10-11. There are a number of things that make this surprisingly difficult including it being the time of day I feel most creative, my most intimate times with the Lord happen during wee hours, etc.  Prayer regarding this shift is appreciated as well as Yahweh’s wisdom on timing with all the other changes I’ll need to make. 🙂

Thank you all so much for everything – you are such a blessing! Much love from a very tired Meghan 😉

  2. Father, I thank you for everything you have been doing in Meghan and Allen’s marriage to restore and revitalize them as well prepare them for the new level and new territory you are taking them to. I ask for continued protection and covering for them. May your banner of passionate love continue to fly high over them and may their love for each other and you continue to increase beyond what they thought possible!

The Lord reminded me of the chuppah that is used in Jewish marriages…so i looked it up..you probably understand more of it but parts of the description resonated for me…

The sages find a reference to the huppah in the talmudic passage in Avot, referring to the house which is open on four sides. The Jerusalemite R. Yosi ben Yohanan urges, “Let your house be wide open,” and compares the huppah to the tent of the patriarch Abraham that, according to Jewish tradition, had entrances on all four sides to welcome wayfarers, so that no traveler, no matter from which direction he came, need be burdened searching for an entrance door. The huppah, with four open sides, is thus a symbol of the Jewish home filled with hesed (acts of love), an important component of which is hakhnasat orhim (hospitality to strangers), a mode of conduct that the newly married couple is expected to establish in their home in emulation of their patriarchal forebear, whose hospitality to strangers was legendary.

It is preferable for the huppah to be outdoors, under the stars, symbolizing the hopes that the couple will be blessed with a large family, in conformity with God’s blessing to Abraham: “I will greatly bless you, and I will exceedingly multiply your children as the stars in heaven.” [The huppah in the open air is also reminiscent of the sukkah, a temporary structure erected during the holiday of Sukkot. Like the sukkah, the huppah reminds bride and groom that they are protected by God alone and that God is their only haven and support.]

  3. Father,

I ask that you help align Meghan’s body to flow in your timing and schedule when you established night and day on this earth. Thank you for being her strength, her joy and her sustainer! Renew her by your Spirit every day.

    In Jesus’ precious name, Amen!
