As most of you know, the new Scent of Heaven site launched on Thursday. There were some issues, but they were dealt with quickly so all is well 🙂 SO grateful to have that done! And I updated the places you can order oil on Dyed4you today (I forgot to do them before!), so I think we are all set now. Thank to you who actually placed an order when you visited her new site – she was very blessed!
I have already pulled the PayPal integration off Dyed4you Art. I started there because it was the easier of the two. But I’ve actually started making updates to Dyed4you as well. The previous “view cart” button has become an “order” button that lands you on the order page.
The order page has been updated with a memory-jogger list at the bottom which lists all the standard products with their respective prices. Now I just have to remember to keep it current! LOL! The quill flag page is a good example of how I’m planning to do all the pages (i.e. with the order now button linking to the order page). Feedback before I do more pages is welcome. If you have concerns or suggestions PLEASE don’t wait to give them!
Sabbath
Over the past 9 months I have started being more intentional about observing Sabbath (sundown Friday to sundown Saturday). I don’t dye for work during that time or sew or write scarf letters… all the things that feel like “work”. I did try at one point to disconnect from email for that time as well and failed miserably because at the end of the day I am more like Martha than Mary and I am somewhat addicted to email. This is a problem.
My husband has now asked me to COMPLETELY unplug from Dyed4you during the Sabbath as much as possible. He’s right of course. I really do need a mental break. But I need prayer on a couple points:
- Grace and understanding from customers about not responding during this period
- That me specifying WHEN I observe Sabbath doesn’t become a point of contention
- Grace and STRENGTH to me to actually NOT check emails/D4Y-related FB during this time
I have to be honest and say I am struggling with this. But I am submitting to my husband’s request and trusting his ability to lead us.
Continued prayers regarding my health appreciated too – Allen got the bug I had on Fri and my system started acting up again last night :/
Thank you all! Love you!!!!
Dearest Meghan,
May Abba guide you and bless you as you honor your God and your husband.
Shabbat (Sabbath) is important, and choosing to honor it as it was in the days of old is awesome! May you be blessed and fulfilled as you celebarte each Shabbat with your God, husband, and family be it blood family and/or family by choice through faith!
Abba, grant Meghan and D4Y favor with You and with man. Protect her business and provision sources from harm because of how she chooses to honor You and Sabbath.
In the name of YahShua,
Amen
Now, on a more practical note, and I presume you have already been considering this, but here goes! 🙂
1. post on your websites that business is not conducted after sundown (maybe a hyperlink for time of sundown in your area) Friday through Sundown Saturday (another hyperlink maybe?)
2. I think even with gmail and stuff you can set an auto-reply, so that people who email you during this time actually receive some sort of response from D4Y sites. You could set it to start every Friday about 1/2 before sundown and end about 1/2 hour after sundown on Saturday evening.
3. Get a google phone number for D4Y (if you don’t already have a separate business line) you can forward it to your phone during business days and hours and send it directly to voicemail (where they’ll hear your beautiful voice) during Shabbat (even this can be set as a permanent option).
Just some thoughts!
May God grant you wisdom, grace, & shalom!
Blessings!
Elaine
@Elaine – Amen 🙂
Thanks for your thoughts! Both forms on the site include a note about the timeframe and I’ve already started looking into an auto response. I don’t get calls unless they’re calls back so I think I’m good on that. Thanks for confirming I’m on the right track!
Deut 5
12Observe the Sabbath day to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. 13Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
14But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, or your manservant or your maidservant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the stranger or sojourner who is within your gates, that your manservant and your maidservant may rest as well as you. 15And [earnestly] remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to observe and take heed to the Sabbath day.
Recently Robert Heidler spoke about the Sabbath. He said, “It is the 10 commandments, not the 10 suggestions.” That has been sticking with me ever since I heard it. It is not just honoring your husband, it is honoring the Father. So I am GLAD when you and others take a day off. Personally, I don’t care if its Fri/Sat, which I too have been observing, or if folks prefer Sat. or Sun. As long as they sat aside a day to rest and do non-work, and preferably spend some time with the Lord and family.
I am in agreement with your requests, however, even if folks don’t like it. At least they will see a testimony of someone obeying the Father and we can be praying that the Lord open their eyes and hearts to be obedient to His commands and to come into a relationship with Him.
The memory jogger on the order page is EXCELLENT! I am very much into concise list of everything in one spot.
Continuing to be in agreement for your healing and health and for Allen also. And as an added note on that subject, I have heard so many testimonies of healing and health all attributed to simply observing the Sabbath. 🙂
Love you dear Meghan and pray the Lord BLESS you and Allen.
Off topic, but I didn’t get an email yesterday when you posted this. Previously I had gotten one every time you posted. Is there a way for me to make the emails come again?
Disregard the email note above, I found the notification in my gmail spam 🙁 First time ever it has gone to there and you are in my contacts. /sigh
I agree 100% with keeping Sabbath.
You are following and obeying the Father and also your husband! Love it!
I pray you get rest during this time!
BUG that is bugging! – STOP bugging, right now in the name of Jesus! (said in my preacher woman voice). 🙂
@ Tonia – I keep getting it thrown into spam as well
I am in agreement with all of the comments above. I believe it is His Will for you to be honoring Him this way. Thank you for who you are and for believing in Him to guide and direct you, Meghan. I pray favor over your business and from your customers and potential customers.
