Released to Dance

A few weeks back, I felt led to send a scarf to a woman I met through the Dyed4you Facebook page. I received this story from her just yesterday 🙂

I just wanted to share this with you because I KNEW you’d love it. For starters, I’ve been wearing my scarf everywhere, which cracks up my pastor’s wife, because I’ve never been much of a scarf person. But I wear mine as a shawl, in my hair, around my neck, and a belt. I like being able to pull it off and worship with it when I’m in prayer settings 🙂

So anyway, last night a team of us went to minister at a youth event, and I ended up wrapping my scarf around several teen girls there while I was praying for them. I was looking at one girl, Rachel, and I couldn’t take my eyes off her, I kept hearing the word, “dancer”, and the dance anointing was so heavy on her I could SEE it.

So I went over with one of her leaders and asked her if she danced, and she said she did banners, but she never really danced, that she wasn’t much of a dancer. And I said, “oh NO, you SO ARE.” That God wanted to break something open here (I had had a vision earlier of God breaking open a big melon, with a big CRACK, just ripping it open) and he wanted her to “rip it up” and release anointing.

So I prayed over her and encouraged her to dance, that no one here would think she was foolish or anything like that. I draped my scarf over her head and told her it was anointed with “Come Dance with Me”.

Well, a little while later, she all of a sudden BUSTS OUT with beautiful spontaneous dance, she was twirling and leaping and the prophetic release of it was knocking people to the floor! Her leader was freaking out, she was all, “She does NOT do that kind of stuff!” She was ecstatic, and I said, well, she does now! Make sure she keeps on doing it! It was amazing.

Just wanted to share 🙂

  1. Aw, God is so good. As I read this testimony it brought tears of joy to my eyes. Just to break out and dance for “him” is so awesome. I love it! I love to dance to my worship music, in my home. I haven’t been able to break out and dance in front of other people, maybe one day.

  2. I love to hear stories of how youth are breaking out for God. It is such a self conscious time and to see God break down those inhibitions is incredible. “God, protect her passion for you and never let her forget what that dance was like. Give her many many more experiences of loving and praising you. Thank you Jesus.”

  3. I cried the first time I read this, just cried. There’s something so beautiful about dancing for Him whether at home or in the sanctuary. Just absolutely incredible how Jesus used this scarf to break a yoke of fear/timidity on her and released prophetic dance in her immediately!! And the power and move of God that followed!!! Ahhh!! Praise you Abba Father forever! You are so worthy! Lord use this anointed dancer to continue to break the yokes and bring breakthrough to Your people!

  4. wow…i love to dance as well…but i am so scared that if i break out in to a twirling dance i may disturb others during worship…but this testimony is so beautiful.
