Friend(s) of God

One of my dear friends, Sheila (who happens to be a prophetic intercessor and one of the future contributors to this blog), came to me and said, “I think Kent needs a scarf.”

Kent Henry has been doing worship for almost as long as I’ve been alive.  He’s led worship on six of Integrity Music’s Hosanna! recordings as well as 22 of his own.  He and his wife Carla are friends of ours, elders at our church, and their daughter happens to be married to our lead pastor 🙂

So Sheila says, “I think Kent needs a scarf” and I agreed with her – it’d been a couple years since his last one, so we began to pray.  When I went to create the “man scarf” for Kent, the Lord had me do an 11×60 along with it, which was not an unusual thing for Him to do. Sheila has dyed with me on multiple occasions and been given insights on the words that have gone with scarves many times – so when I called her when I was done dyeing, I wasn’t surprised when God downloaded the bulk of the word to her.

When she hit the end of the beautiful word God had birthed, she said she sensed the Lord very specifically saying the word wasn’t just for Kent, but for Carla too. Immediately, God reminded me that He’d already been speaking to me about a new scarf for Carla and that it was to be light blue – I had to laugh at myself because it hadn’t even occurred to me throughout the whole process that it might be for her!

That evening I handed off the scarves to Carla (so Kent wouldn’t lose them – LOL) and later she shared this scarf story:

Meghan gave me a scarf at Destiny Church on Saturday the 4th of September. I really didn’t have time to read the note or open the scarf bag to look at it until I was in the Prayer Room on Tuesday evening Sept. 7th.

I opened it and began to read the commentary you wrote about the colors and the scripture, Amos 3:7. When I got to the paragraph about Amos 3:7, “Surely the Lord God will do nothing without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets.”, I put the scarf over my head. When I did, there was such an anointing that I nearly fell out of my chair. That Scripture lept off the page and God spoke to me that Kent & I have a new responsibility to be among those prophets that are hearing His secrets, His forerunning revelations. I was overwhelmed!!!

I have been walking in the Spirit for 36 years and have had very few experiences like this where the presence of God was so strong while just touching an anointed object. The Hebrew writing in gold in the corner “Holiness to the Lord” is our hallmark scripture.
