New Bags

Those who are connected to our Facebook page will probably not be surprised to hear that we’re changing how our scarves come packaged.  The change will be effective on all orders received after midnight CST this Saturday (10/16/10).  We’ve made this choice for a couple reasons and so I just wanted to give the full explanation for those who want to know 🙂

Before I tell you why, let me explain what it will look like.  Basically now scarves will come packaged in a thin plastic sleeve. The scarf letter (assuming there is one, which there typically is – see Spirit-Led Dyeing) will be enclosed with it.

One of the reasons for this shift is that putting the scarves in the plastic will help preserve the scent of the anointing oil – so you will get to enjoy it more when it arrives.  The scent typically wears off in about a week or so, which means that currently half the time the scent is on it is when it’s in the mail to you – so you don’t get to enjoy it!

This also will help you get to smell EACH scent if you’ve ordered more than one scarf rather than having a scent blended from all the oils on the scarves you’ve ordered 🙂

Note: I do have unscented anointing oil! So if you have allergy issues, please let me know when you order.  Depending on how severe your allergies are will depend on how severe the reaction it – so please act accordingly.  For me, I’m allergic to Jasmine (which regrettably is one of Carol’s favorite oils so it’s in many of the anointing oils – LOL), but I can still enjoy smelling some of the ones containing it (Paga and Wedding Feast to name a couple) – I don’t have a reaction to simply the scent unless it’s more of a main ingredient (e.g. Everlasting Joy and Remember Me). But I digress 🙂

The other reason for the packaging switch is because the cost of silk has continued to rise. Since I did price increases last year, I wanted to avoid increasing them again for as long as possible. This small adjustment helps towards that end. 🙂

But never fear!  For those who know and love the coordinating silk bags, they are still available as an add on. I’ve intentionally included them lower than costs as a benefit for my long-time customers who keep and treasure them 🙂
