I’ve been wanting to create a Flag Comparison page for a long while to make it easier for you to know which flag is right for YOU 🙂 This video compares 8 flagging products (listed below).
Per your requests, I’m starting with a quick demo video so you know which is which of the 8 worship tools listed below. For the pieces that have some versatility, I’ve tried showing that too. Hope it is helpful!
Types of flags covered here (click the flag name to view an example demo on the blog):
- Simple Flags – A silk (typically a 35×85 or 45×108) with 1 (or 2 if you want to make a pair) flag seams added so a wooden dowel can be slipped in for use as a flag.
- Dowel Wing – A silk (typically either a 5mm or 8mm semicircle) with a wing seam (or altered wing seam) added so a wooden dowel can be slipped in for use as a wing.
- Voi (Veiled Poi) – A silk (typically either a 35×84 or 5mm semicircle) that ties to a weight which is affixed to the end of a chain with a handle on the other end.
- Streamer – A long, narrow silk (either 3 or 4 yards) that is attached to a 23″ rod.
- Quill Wing – A semicircle with a flexible rod running halfway up the straight side.
- Quill Flag – A rectangle or quarter circle silk with a flexible rod on one side.
- Swing Flag – A rectangular silk with a weighted string sewn into one corner (called the “lead corner”) so that when in motion, the lead corner “pulls” the silk along to create the flag motion.
- Banner Flag – A large silk (typically either 45″ or 55″ by approximately 100″) that can be attached to a fishing pole (purchased separately – here’s where we suggest getting it from) for a really big, beautiful effect.
This picture shows you which flag is where so you know which one I am gesturing to 😉

* All products are use at your own risk, Dyed4you is not responsible for any injuries due to the use of one of our products. They all should be used with care
** All products are built to last with care, but the fact is wear and tear does happen. In quills, it is easily remedied – see Quill Breakthrough
*** Swing flags are so good in corporate worship they are often allowed places other worship elements aren’t – the dance area at IHOP-KC being a prime example!
I can’t wait until I’m home and can actually view this video! The still pic with all the flags is beautiful. Thanks for putting this together!!!!!
Thank you this was needed.
This was soo helpful! Thank you Meghan!! (2x) 😉
I think that was wonderful, but I was expecting something you didn’t do. I thought you were going to demonstrate each one at the end after you had explained what they all were. I think that would be a nice comparison. I know you’ve done comparisons of two or three different kinds but to see them all would be beneficial.
Excellent job in the explanation of all your different products. All things I’ve learned by experience in my own worship. (except the Voi…never used one) I will be sending everyone to this page to learn. Love, love, love your heart and spirit. THANK you for all you do.
@Applewilliams – I did a version like that and the video was almost 30 min :/ But I’ll consider shooting a comparison video of them just in use. 🙂
Excellent! Very informative. Although I agree it would be nice to have a follow up video demonstrating the different flags etc so people could see the motion and such of the flags when trying to decide which they would like. But again…excellent presentation! 😀
Thank you so much for doing this !!! So appreciate all you do 😉
This was very helpful! Thanks for the great explanation!
I really enjoyed your video. Very nicely done, very informative! It looked as though you were having such a good time lol BTW You make a very good model 😉
Yeah! now that is what I was talking about! They are all just sooooo gorgeous…… I would want them all!!!!! So anointed. They all flow so beutiously!
Meghan, that was absolutely astounding! Thank you. You used every piece of silk to its advantage and how marvelous you demonstrated for us.
Oh, those quills have me fasinated. Really appreciated the time you took to lay out all the different styles you have to offer, their weight, durabitlity, arm strenght to use, and use in corporate worship.
The video was very informitive!!! Thank you so much!! I loved that you showed how each one looked while in use and I LOVED that you showed their many uses!! It wasn’t to long so I wasn’t bored and I loved that You were having fun!! Thanks again for sharing your gift with us!!

It’s like looking at a candy store.
Two of everything please! Great videos!
I LOVED the first video where you are actually demonstrating the flags! Oh, Mylanta!!!! Can I just say that I want ALL of my flags to be ones that I can WEAR after worshiping!!!!!!!? I think you did a great job and it was very informative as well! Thank you for giving us the info and knowledge we need to go out and get those things that Father has called us to have. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to go back and say, “You know, I think that I can handle this voi!” or “That streamer would be a GREAT addition to our worship arsenal at church!”. Videos well done, sweet Meghan!!! 😉 Many thanks!
Excellent video. And the chart/picture are an excellent shorthand reminder. Great info Meghan. 🙂
bet you did not know when you were getting into this that Abba was gonna create a model, spokesperson, dancer out of you? LOL aint He GRAND!! lol. great job Meghan. loved this.
I had to watch again and I am compelled to share that the swing flags are able to be draped over your shoulders and lap! You’re not likely to “wear” them out this way but they do provide a silk cocoon. ^_^
Meghan you are fantabulous! I love that you took the time to show all the different types of flags all together and also you lovely chart that lists the comparisons below it. It’s a great resource for those who aren’t familiar with the different products. Great job! Thank you!
Meghan thank you once again for showing this comparison. It is very helpful for a “newbie” like me. What is so awesome that even in the demonstrations, the love of the Lord you have and the joy of worship comes out. Please keep up the wonderful ways you have of worship, it inspires us all to just pour out our hearts before the Lord.
