Comparing Wings: Spin, Bendie, & Swing (Updated)

Quick comparison of three types of wings (spin, bendie, and swing) in our three sizes (regular, large, and XL). I try to hit pros/cons, storage, use tips, etc. and quick facts on each size are listed below.

Regular Wings

Quick facts:

  • Size: 35×55″ (pre-sewing measurement)
  • Silk weight: 8mm (standard) and 5mm (light) – except for swing wings which are 8mm only
  • Rods: regular bendie wing is 27-29″ and the capped rod in the regular spin wing is 33″

Large Wings

Quick facts:

  • Size: 45×72″ (pre-sewing measurement)
  • Silk weight: 8mm (standard) and 5mm (light) – except for swing wings which are 8mm only
  • Rods: large bendie wings is 36-39″ and the capped rod in the large spin wing is 39″

XL Wings

Quick facts:

  • Size: 55×88″ (pre-sewing measurement)
  • Silk weight: 8mm (for Bendie and Swing) and 5mm (Bendie only)
  • Rods: large bendie wings is approximately 46″
