Luke 10:19 declares, “Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means harm you.”
How many years do we waste as Christians thinking the devil is chasing us down, when the truth is that Jesus has already stripped him of his power? On the cross, Christ bore all of our infirmities, every sickness, every curse. He defeated sin, He defeated death, and He defeated the enemy once and for all. Too often we forget this, and we live as though we are still under attack instead of realizing that the victory has already been won.
The name of Jesus is above every name — Philippians 2 tells us that at His name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess. That means sickness must bow, fear must bow, depression must bow, the enemy himself must bow. Through Christ, you have been given authority today — not when you get to heaven, but right now, in this very moment.
That authority empowers you to silence the enemy’s lies, to cast out unclean spirits that try to sneak into your thinking, and to stand against every distraction that seeks to derail you from God’s purpose for your life. You are not helpless. You are not vulnerable. You are armed with the authority of Christ, and when you speak His name with faith, the powers of darkness have no choice but to flee.
Luke 10:19 declares, “Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means harm you.”
But here’s the key: we need to wake up to this truth and take hold of it. Authority unused is authority wasted. The Holy Spirit, your helper and guide, walks with you every step of the way. He will teach you how to use what Christ has already given you. He will remind you of the Word of God, strengthen you in moments of weakness, and lead you in victory.
So today, rise up in the authority of Jesus Christ. Do not allow fear, temptation, or discouragement to dictate your path. Stand firm, knowing who you are and what has already been secured for you. The kingdom of God is not something you are waiting to enter — it is within you now, and His authority is alive in you today.
