I know I haven’t officially announced the new quill wings, but couldn’t resist giving you a peek at the one that’s stolen my heart – the Altered Quill Wing. These silks are an altered version of the 5mm china silk semicircles, but unlike the traditional dowel wings, this is a quill wing, which means the flexible rod (aka quill) is encased in a grosgrain ribbon long part of one side.
This construction actually strengthens the center seam where the alteration took place, which makes it (in my mind) preferable to the dowel version which can actually have weakening caused by the dowel rubbing on the seam.
These move beautifully and are easy to use – I’m dyeing a pair for myself tonight 😉

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM IN L-O-V-E!!!
I have to admit that I ♥ the wings, ♥ them. This is just Gorgeous!!!! I ♥ it. This one might make it on my wish list 🙂
Oh so beautiful! Love the look and flow. Great video Meghan, love to see you get into the joy of worship and hear you laugh!
That wing just looked beautiful with the ripple affect it had as it moved! Gorgeous voice too! 🙂
Had to watch it again 🙂
Makes we want to get out my River of Life wing 🙂
It is Beautiful!
LOL…I was laughing with you at the end! 😀 It’s funny how I’m usually wrong about what I think will be “too difficult.” I just finished making a comment on the quarter-circle size quill flag, about how that was a perfect size and the full semicircle would be too big to control with a quill. Then I watched this video and said, “Yep…wrong again…” 😉 This has such a neat effect, almost like it’s expanding & contracting as you swing it. Obviously much easier to use these flags than I originally thought.
Loved the quill, but loved evenmore hearing you sing and laugh and watching you smile! 🙂
@Jessica – Keep in mind since this is actually an altered quill wing there’s about 18″ pulled out of the center of this half circle (which trust me does make it easier). That said I will be posting video with the full-sized one too and it’s not that difficult to work with one. A pair is more challenging, but even that is doable with practice 🙂
love when you sing and laugh Meghan Rainbow Seed
Wonderful worship… You sing beautifully Meghan!! 🙂
