Introducing the Patchwork Throw (aka Prayer Blanket)
It’s actually interesting to me the timing of when all this has come together. You see, I made the first patchwork throw as a gift for a very special friend for her birthday… and today is her birthday. It’s been two years to the day 🙂
Back then I didn’t think I’d make another, but about two months ago someone approached me about making them one. I did the one (which you’ll undoubtedly see pictures of soon) and realized I REALLY didn’t want to be the one sewing these! LOL 🙂 But God provided a faithful Dyed4you customer and friend (Tami) to sew them. I had her do one for me as a sample so you all could see it and so I could create an order page for it. It has been quite the day!!!! I woke up to a phone call from my aunt who told me that my grandpa had passed away at 6:45am. I was just overwhelmed with sadness because we were planning on leaving the very next day to travel to see him in the hospital. I was feeling sad not just because he passed away but also because I had not seen him since my mother’s death in 1995. Unfortunately, after my mom’s passing, her whole side of the family basically shut my dad, brother and I out of their lives along with some other pretty horrible things. Given the lack of space (not to mention sweet Amanda trying not to break anything in my house), Amanda did an AMAZING job wielding these two semicircle wings. One has the altered wing seam (the smaller one) and one just a wing seam (the larger). Both are gorgeous and together… WOW!
